Birthday Weekend!

Kendall and I celebrated our 27th birthday yesterday.  Monday birthdays aren't very exciting so we decided to celebrate over the weekend.  Friday night Craig and I went to SouthPark to do some shopping and then ate at the Cheesecake Factory.  Saturday we went up to Huntersville and went to the Lake Norman Food and Wine Festival with Kendall and Milo.  Wine tastings are always fun but we quickly got tired of the NC muscadines and decided to go to the Galway Hooker instead.  That night we went to the wine cottage after a long hiatus.  I think I've had my fair share of wine for quite some time :(.

Courtney hosted our birthday dinner at her house on Sunday and we got to congratulate Courtney and Bill on their engagement!  Gina decorated my office for me at work, and the ladies all brought me cupcakes and a balloon :)

Comedy Zone and Music Factory

I've been to the new Comedy Zone three times now I believe and it gets better every time!  Craig and I went with my friend from work, Gina, and her boyfriend Joel.  I think the comedian's name was Jay Phillips?  He has been in some of Will Ferrell's movies and was very entertaining.  We were sitting probably one table away from the stage, and were worried that we may get picked on or pointed out.  Thank goodness we happened to attend a show with a lot of "characters" that managed to keep the attention off of us.

We hung around long enough after the show that Gina and I snagged a picture with Jay.

We tried out some of the bars afterwards, including some new place called The Small Bar.  It was ok, but somehow Gina, Joel and I all ended up sick the following week so I'm not sure we'll be going back there.  If you haven't made it to VBGB yet, I highly recommend it.  Definitely my favorite bar at the Music Factory.  Laid back and low key with ping pong, corn hole and amazing pretzels!

I LOVE the Fall!

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday!  I am so excited to be in a house this year and on a street with LOTS of children. The past few years I've camped out at my mom's house so I could give out candy and now I can greet trick-or-treaters at my own house!

Craig and I finally dug up all the dead mums from the front yard and I replaced them with an adorable harvest display.  I still can't compete with the pumpkin patch my Mom has in her yard, but its a start :)

We went to the Renaissance Festival for the first time last weekend.  I can't believe I've been missing out on this for the past 20 years!  We had so much fun!  We went with Kendall and Milo and their friends Tyler and Megan and we stayed the entire day.  I would say this is something I will definitely do every year going forward.

Raleigh Getaway and Fun Times

We finally got all settled in with our new furniture to complete the upstairs.  We are definitely enjoying the location of our new home in Cotswold and look forward to settling down in that area permanently one day :).

It's been a busy month.  Right as I finished up my annual company party, my Dad was admitted to the hospital with double pulmonary embolisms.  Luckily, they caught them pretty early on and were able to start treatment right away.  He's back at work and doing much better! :)

Last week Craig and I went to Raleigh for a few days and were able to experience the uptown life again!  I had an HR conference for work and Craig decided to tag along which was very nice.  We ate some good food and got to test out a few bars and pubs in the area.

Jason and Season are finally getting settled in their new house so Rachel got to watch Brighton last weekend while they finished up moving.  Craig and I went to Fort Mill on Sunday and got to hang out with him for a little which was a lot of fun.  He says the cutest things and even calls me Aunt KiKi :)

The weather is getting colder which means the holidays are coming!  Target has the cutest Halloween shirts for puppies and one says "I love my Mummy".  I don't know, but I'm pretty sure Bentley NEEDS that shirt :)  For now, he likes to dress up like Little Blue Riding Hood!
